U V Switch™

UV Switch™ incorporates fluorescent-coloured images, which can combine or ‘switch’ under transmitted and reflected UV light and combine different effects on both sides of the paper. UV Switch™ is a unique innovation usually reserved for high-value documents such as passports or banknotes.

U.V Switch™ has been developed for planchettes, Micro-Marques™, threads, overlays and surface applied features, such as patches and stripes. There are relatively few paper mills that can incorporate them into the paper.

UV Switch™ thread, provides an instantly recognisable and robust anti-counterfeiting feature. The combination of fluorescent, coloured images, which can combine or ‘switch’ under transmitted and reflected UV light, makes this ideal for windowed or fully embedded thread.

Until now you’ve had a limited choice of embedded threads and the market has tended towards the use of more expensive windowed threads. UV colour switch thread is readily seen from both sides and although less expensive than its counterpart, it retains a high degree of security and user appeal.

UV Switch Transfer Film is a two-colour transfer film for hot embossing or laminating. Embossing a design onto the foil creates a unique colour switching effect of exact registration of image from front to back. Alternatively, a pre-printed foil design in multiple colours can be hot stamped onto the substrate. Our patented UV Switch printed feature provides different images under transmitted or reflected UV light without the need of two-sided or simultan printing.
